What a Swiss tent is
A Swiss tent is a large canvas tent pitched on a raised base, with a proper door, windows and enough height to stand. Inside you usually find beds, bedding, a small table and chairs, and lighting. Most have an attached bathroom with a toilet and shower.
Where camps differ
Camps vary in size, setting and facilities. Some are large, with many tents and a busy evening stage. Others are smaller with a quieter feel. Hot water availability, air coolers or heaters, furniture quality and the distance to the dunes all differ. Your quotation lists what the selected camp provides. Shri Neeraj Tours does not own a camp; we help you choose one.
A typical evening
Guests usually arrive in the afternoon, go out for a camel ride or jeep safari at sunset and return for tea and snacks. A cultural programme of folk music and dance follows, then dinner. After the performance, the camp quietens and the stars come out.
Meals
Dinner and breakfast are usually included. Many camps serve vegetarian Rajasthani food; some offer non-vegetarian dishes. Tell us about dietary requirements when enquiring.
Night temperatures
Desert days can be warm while nights, particularly in winter, are cold. Bring a warm layer and ask whether extra blankets or heaters are available.
